What access control means

Instead of keys, a door opens with a card, a fob or a code. You decide who can get in and when. If a card goes missing, it can be switched off instead of re-keying the locks.

Card readers, keypads and electric locks need power and wiring at the door, which is why an electrician is a natural fit for the job.

Useful to know before you call

  • How many doors or gates, and whether there’s power nearby
  • Roughly how many cameras, and what each should see
  • Whether you want to check doors or cameras from your phone
  • Home, business, or a building you manage

What DWE installs

  • Surveillance cameras

Service descriptions on this page are as stated by DWE. DWE says its access-control and surveillance work began on large campus sites in Southern California.
